01  /  The Work

A trade done
properly, start
to finish.

Phoenix is a new name in the Lower Mainland, run by people who are not new to the trade. Every job starts with a clear diagnosis and a written quote, and finishes with a system you can stop thinking about. No guesswork, no surprise invoices, no mess left behind.

Not sure where to start?

What is going on at your place?

Pick the closest match for a safe first step. Then call us, or send a quote request.

Burst pipe or active leak

  1. Shut off the main water valve. It is usually where the water line enters your home, or at the meter.
  2. Open a cold tap to relieve pressure and drain the line.
  3. Stay clear of outlets and the electrical panel if water is near them.
  4. Move valuables out of the way and take photos for your records.

No hot water

  1. Check the breaker if your heater is electric, or that the gas supply and pilot are on if it is gas.
  2. If water is leaking from the tank, close the cold water valve above it.
  3. A hissing or dripping relief valve should not be ignored. Call us.

No heat, or cold radiators

  1. Check the thermostat is set to heat and above room temperature, and that the system has power.
  2. If a boiler shows an error, bangs, or leaks, switch it off and call us.
  3. If you ever smell gas, leave the building and use the gas steps instead.

Smell gas? Get out first.

  1. Leave the building now and take everyone with you.
  2. Do not switch lights or appliances on or off, use a phone inside, or light anything.
  3. From outside, call FortisBC emergency on 1-800-663-9911, or call 911.
  4. Once it has been made safe, call us to repair the piping or appliance on your side of the meter.

Blocked drain or sewer backup

  1. Stop running water and do not flush while fixtures are backing up.
  2. Skip chemical drain cleaners. They can damage pipes and are unsafe for whoever works on the line next.
  3. If several fixtures back up at once, the main line is likely blocked. Keep people and pets away from any sewage.

Planning a project

  1. Renovating a kitchen or bath, replacing a water heater or boiler, or repiping?
  2. Tell us what you have in mind. We diagnose first, then send a written quote before any work begins.

Most calls start here. A dripping supply line, a fixture that will not shut off, a wet patch on a ceiling with no obvious source. We locate the actual cause rather than the nearest symptom, then explain what needs replacing and what can be left alone.

What that looks like in practice: isolating the affected line, confirming the failure point, and giving you two costed options where a real choice exists. Repairs are completed on the first visit whenever the parts allow it.

  • Burst pipes
  • Shutoff valves
  • Fixture leaks
  • Pressure issues
  • Concealed leak location

Slow drains, recurring backups, and the smell that comes with them are almost always a symptom of something further down the line. We clear the blockage, then run a camera so you can see the condition of the pipe for yourself before deciding what comes next.

Older Vancouver housing stock matters here. Clay and cast iron laterals, root intrusion, and settled drain tile are common across the region and each needs a different repair approach.

  • Drain clearing
  • Camera inspection
  • Root removal
  • Sewer line repair
  • Perimeter drain tile

Tank replacements, tankless conversions, recirculation, and the annual servicing that keeps either one from failing early. We size the unit to the household rather than to whatever is on the truck, and we handle the venting, gas, and permitting properly.

If your tank is over ten years old, it is worth a look before it decides for you. We will tell you honestly whether it has life left in it.

  • Tank replacement
  • Tankless conversion
  • Annual servicing
  • Recirculation lines
  • Expansion tanks

Boiler service and replacement, radiant floor loops, baseboard and radiator systems, zone valves, and the controls that tie them together. Heating is where a careless install shows up years later, so we take the commissioning seriously.

  • Boiler replacement
  • Radiant in floor

Whole home repipes, poly B replacement, and main water line renewal. This is disruptive work if it is done badly and almost invisible if it is done well, so we plan the routing, the access points, and the restoration before a single wall is opened.

  • Poly B replacement
  • Whole home repipe
  • Main water line
  • Pressure regulators
  • Strata coordination

Rough in and finish plumbing for bathroom and kitchen renovations, secondary suites, and new construction. We work to the drawing, coordinate with your builder or designer, and keep the trades behind us unblocked.

  • Rough in
  • Finish plumbing
  • Fixture supply
  • Suite additions
  • Permit coordination

Multi-family buildings, retail and restaurant units, and rough in work for general contractors. The trade is the same; what changes is the coordination. Access to occupied units, work that cannot run into opening hours, and a site schedule you are not the only one on.

What that looks like in practice: a written scope before anyone starts, work staged so tenants and trading are disrupted as little as possible, and one point of contact for the strata council, property manager or site super.

  • Strata and multi-family
  • Common areas and risers
  • Retail and restaurant units
  • Tenant improvements
  • New construction rough in

02  /  Experience

New company.
Not new to
the trade.

Phoenix was founded recently, and we would rather say that plainly than dress it up. What is behind the name is the part that matters: a team whose combined time in plumbing and heating runs past three decades, across houses, townhomes, strata buildings and commercial units throughout Greater Vancouver.

30+

Years of combined experience

Between the people on the tools, more than thirty years of plumbing and heating work in this region specifically, not somewhere else.

3

Decades of local building stock

Character homes, nineteen eighties townhome complexes, and commercial units all fail in different ways. Knowing which you are standing in changes the fix.

1

Standard, on every job

The same care whether it is a seized valve or a full repipe. Clean work areas, clear explanations, and a written quote before anything starts.

03  /  How It Works

Four steps,
no surprises.

The most common complaint about our trade is not the price. It is not knowing what the price will be. Here is exactly how a Phoenix job runs from first call to final walkthrough.

01

Call or book online

Tell us what is happening. Photos help. We will let you know right away whether it needs attention today or can wait for a scheduled visit.

02

On site diagnosis

We find the real cause, walk you through what we found, and show you the affected components rather than describing them from the van.

03

Written quote

A clear, itemized price before any work begins. Where there is a genuine choice between a repair and a replacement, you get both numbers.

04

Work and walkthrough

The job gets done, the area gets cleaned, and we show you what changed and how to look after it before we leave.

Tim was responsive, diagnosed the issue immediately and fixed the issue quickly. He was friendly, professional, and I was so grateful that he was available to attend to the issue at the last minute. In the end the dishwasher works flawlessly and the price was really reasonable.
